Who is Mitchell Ong? The gym fanatic and self-described ‘Power Asian’, 43, who is accused of stabbing tourist Audrey Fang to death on Spain’s Costa Blanca – Olive Press News Spain

MITCHELL Ong remains behind bars in Spain accused of the brutal murder of his Singaporean compatriot Audrey Fang.

On April 9, prosecutors claim Audrey was picked up by Ong in his car from her hotel in Javea, Alicante.

The next day, her body was found dumped 150km away in a lorry park in Abanilla, Murcia.

On April 16, Ong was arrested over the killing following an intensive investigation by the Guardia Civil.

They are now building their case and sources claim evidence is mounting against Ong – including a pair of Nike trainers which are being analysed by soil experts, and which could place him at the scene of the crime.

Cops are still working on the motive but sources told La Verdad de Murcia that it could be ‘financial’, adding that Audrey had some investments and had recently made a bank transfer to an unknown third party.

Ong, who was reportedly due to meet with his Ukrainian girlfriend on April 10, the day Audrey was found, appears to have spent years working in finance.

Ong describes himself as a ‘6ft2 Power Asian’ on Instagram, adding: “Loved by many. Feared by none. Cos I’m nice.”

His photos reveal he has been travelling to and from the Costa Blanca since at least 2022, as well as Barcelona.

He has more than 14,000 followers on the app and regularly posts videos of himself sightseeing in Spain and working out at the gym.

It is not clear if he was living in Spain or just visited regularly from Singapore.

According to his since-deleted LinkedIn profile, Ong he has been working as a private wealth management specialist since 2011.

It also claims he was a financial services consultant from 2014 to 2019, and a financial adviser from 2011 to 2013, following a string of other finance-related positions.

Ong also used to run a website that saw him offer financial advice, reports the Straits Times, and which described himself as an ‘expert’ who helped CEOs, A-list clients and bank bosses.

He is also said to have boasted about making big gains in the cryptocurrency market and ‘losing 15kg of body fat.’
