ALICANTE-ELCHE airport clocked up an all time passenger record for a single month in June, beating the previous best that was only set in May.
Airport operator Aena said that 1.77 million people used the facility last month exceeding the recently-set record by 1.32%.
The airport recorded a 17.7% rise in travellers compared to June 2023.

International passengers accounted for the bulk of the total with 1,532,755 users- up 16.8% on the same month last year.
Domestic travellers registered a total of 237,528, a healthy annual rise of 24%.
United Kingdom visitors led the international pack with 612,123 travellers(30% of the overall total) followed by the Netherlands, with 103,953.
Third was Germany, with 103,131; Belgium, with 85,689; and France, with 81,876 people.
Extra flights from mainly low-cost operators meant there were 10,953 flights last months, an increase of 15.9% compared to the same month in 2023.
In the first half of the year, Alicante-Elche Airport operated a total of 52,801 flights, 15.2% more than in the same period last year.
Nationally, airports in the Aena network closed the first half of the year with more than 144.1 million passengers, which represents an annual increase of 11.4%.
