Rosana Perán, the Elche businesswoman, has been re-elected as the president of the Spanish Footwear Industries Federation (FICE). The Vice President of the Pikolinos Group will continue to lead the footwear federation for another year after her position was renewed during the Ordinary General Assembly of the federation.
Before the assembly began, a minute of silence was observed in memory of the DANA victims. The tragedy forced the suspension of the in-person meeting, which was held online as it was initially planned to take place in Madrid.
Perán, who took on the role in 2022, expressed her gratitude to all the business associations that make up the federation. “I am extremely grateful for the trust they have placed in me once again to continue representing and defending the interests of the Spanish footwear sector, a sector that must face great challenges which we are already working on from our federation,” stated the executive.
The president of FICE assured that “we are focused and engaged in continuing to coordinate the footwear donations we are receiving from our companies to help as much as possible the emergency services and security forces working on rescue and assistance to the affected population,” and emphasized that the most important thing right now “is the people.”
On the other hand, the executive committee of FICE has overseen the progress in meeting the objectives outlined in the federation’s new strategic plan. Perán pointed out that these objectives “focus on consolidating the footwear sector as an identity mark of the Spanish fashion brand and strengthening its presence in international markets.”
Footwear Donation
The footwear donation campaign, led by the president of FICE and CEC, and executive vice president of the Pikolinos Group, to assist those affected by DANA, remains open. So far, footwear companies have donated more than 22,700 pairs of shoes, mainly rain boots and technical and home footwear. The Polish Chamber of Footwear and Leather Industry and the Portuguese Footwear Industries Association (Apiccaps) have also collaborated in these donations through the CEC.
Companies such as Verbenas, Igor, Pisamonas, Unisa, Pablosky, Toni Pons, Paredes, Panter, Gioseppo, Grupo Illice, Yokono, Vulcanizados Alberola, Deichman, XTI, Exé, Calzados Bestard, Pikolinos, 24H, Ángel Alarcón, and Calzados Gaymo, Botticelli, among others, have participated in the donation.
