Spain have arrived back after their 40-day excursion to Germany, and to much fanfare, with the trophy in Alvaro Morata’s hands, following their 2-1 victory over England in the Euro 2024 final. The first stop was the royal palace.
The Spain squad presented the trophy to King Felipe, Queen Letizia and his two daughters Princess Leonor and Princess Sofia, where they thanked the King for his support throughout the tournament. It was King Felipe who handed Morata the trophy in Berlin less than 24 hours before.

Notably, the Princesses Leonor and Sofia greeted the team in Dani Olmo shirts, while Gavi, who has been part of the celebrations, was also at the royal palace.
After being received by the royals, they then went to the Government buildings at La Moncloa, where Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez thanked them for showing the best side of Spain.
Currently the Spain squad are en route on an open-top bus to the Cibeles fountain, where they will be greeted by a throng of fans, and speak to the crowds gathered there, rushing in to get the best view.
