Travel tech firm Snowfall will provide European rail content to Spanish travel agent consortium Group GEA as part of a new strategic agreement, the company announced on Wednesday (20 March).
The deal will allow Grupo GEA’s 800 agency members – around a third of which are business travel agencies – to access rail content from more than 50 European rail operators and book multimodal travel with a single transaction via Snowfall’s proprietary open API distribution system, Junction.
The initial integration will cover pan-European rail, with Snowfall chief growth officer Simon Arvidsson signalling additional multimodal travel verticals are in the development pipeline.
“We look forward to continuing to develop this partnership going forwards with opportunities to provide other forms of multimodal travel content to Grupo GEA travel agencies,” he said.
GEA Grupo director of new developments and innovation, Antonio Lara, added: “Finding the right technology provider was crucial for us to meet our specific rail content needs.
“We were highly impressed by [Snowfall’s] flexible and personal approach, which simplified the process of sourcing and delivering comprehensive and competitive European rail content.”
