Sevilla star Jesús Navas has on Sunday etched his name ever further into the history books of Spanish football.
As much comes owing to his latest appearance in El Gran Derbi.
Sevilla are of course currently locked in action, in a La Liga meeting with city neighbours and arch rivals Real Betis.
As things stand at The Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán, it is the evening’s hosts who find themselves in possession of a slender advantage, owing to a penalty on the part of Dodi Lukebakio.
The aforementioned Jesús Navas, meanwhile, was forced to watch on from the bench from the off on Sunday, but was ultimately introduced to proceedings just inside the closing 20 minutes.
And, in the process, the veteran winger secured for himself fresh history.
As revealed by statistician Fran Martínez of Relevo:
‘Jesús Navas enters the field and becomes the player with the most Seville derby appearances in HISTORY (28), surpassing Joaquín Sánchez (27).’
#DATO HISTÓRICO.
