Spanish and European champions Real Madrid are interested in the possibility of signing former Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels this summer.
La Gazzetta dello Sport (via TuttoBolognaWeb) have reported that Hummels is of interest to Los Blancos, especially after the exit of Nacho to Saudi Arabia and Carlo Ancelotti could look to sign the German defender. It poses a threat to Bologna’s move for the player, but the Rossoblu remain confident about landing the veteran, who reached the Champions League final last season.
Bologna’s current offer for Hummels is at €2 million per season plus bonuses that can take it to €3 million per season. Having said that, they aren’t short of any alternatives. Udinese’s Jaka Bijol as a potential target if they don’t sign Hummels and a meeting with the Friuli is already scheduled for next week, with Spanish clubs also monitoring the Slovenian and Fiorentina have also been linked with him.
