Real Madrid vs Villarreal
Madrid, Oct 5 (PL) Real Madrid defeated Villarreal 2-0 today and equalized with Barcelona at the top of the Spanish soccer league.
Uruguay’s Federico Valverde scored a superb goal in the 14th minute after a corner kick, and Brazil’s Vinicius Junior (73rd) scored the second to take Los Merengues to 21 points, the same as Barcelona.
In the other Saturday matches, Espanyol beat RCD Mallorca 2-1, Rayo Vallecano beat Valladolid, and Celta de Vigo beat Las Palmas 1-0, the only team still without a win.
In addition, Getafe and Osasuna drew 1-1, which allows the latter to maintain their place in the European competitions for next season.
The following matches are scheduled for tomorrow: Girona-Athletic de Bilbao, Alavés-Barcelona, Sevilla-Betis and Real Sociedad-Atlético de Madrid.
