Real Madrid have announced a new two-year deal for Dani Carvajal after it was confirmed the defender suffered a serious injury against Villarreal.
“Real Madrid CF announces that, as planned, it has agreed with Dani Carvajal to extend our player’s contract, which will bind him to the club until June 30, 2026,” read the official statement.
The deal has been expedited to ensure that the player does not have an expired contract and will still be paid whilst on the sidelines.
“Real Madrid would like to show him all its support and affection and wishes him a speedy recovery so that we can enjoy his football on the pitch again as soon as possible,” the statement concluded.
Carvajal joined Madrid back in 2002 as a 10-year-old, and rose right up the youth ranks before breaking into the first team in 2013.
