A late Vinicius Jr. penalty means Bayern Munich go to the Santiago Bernabéu with their Champions League tie against Real Madrid level at 2-2. A defensive lapse in concentration from Kim Min-jae conceded the penalty seven minutes from time, which means Bayern must now score at least one goal if they are to advance to the final.

Manuel Neuer highlighted the importance of scoring the first goal tomorrow night. Score first and the Rekordmeister place themselves in a good position, but go behind to Los Blancos at the Santiago Bernabéu and they face an uphill battle.

“It will be important for both teams to be in very good form on the day,” said Neuer at Tuesday’s press conference. “The first goal can make the different, that punch. Against Real Madrid it always comes down to the little things. The concentration will be very high, nobody wants to make a mistake. Both teams have offensive power, whoever takes advantage of that can use the momentum.”
