Remember, remember, the 5th of November!!!

ARCHIVED – 5th November Guy Fawkes bonfire night on Mar Menor Golf Resort” style=”margin: 5px 10px 5px 0px; float: left” width=”100%” />

Bonfire Night or Guy Fawkes Night is a celebration, held each year in the UK on the 5th November, to commemorate a failed attempt to blow up the Houses of Parliament in London in 1605. To celebrate the fact that King James 1 survived this attempt, by Guy Fawkes and his followers, bonfires were lit all across the country. Effigies of Guy Fawkes are made and burned on the bonfire and fireworks are set off.

The Mar Menor Golf resort is holding its own bonfire night celebrations on 5th November.

You are invited to make your own Guy Fawkes and bring him along. Making a “Guy” is a great way to get rid of an old pair of trousers and an old shirt. Make him a face and stuff him with newspaper and you could be a winner.

THE BEST “GUY” WILL WIN 50€!

Our celebrations begin in the Clover Bar at 19:00

Judging of the “Guys” will be at 20:00

Torchlight procession to the bonfire site (by the MM2 security gate)

A Barbeque selling food and drinks will be at the bonfire site
