‘La Caixa’ Foundation, El Corte Inglés and Caixabank are once again positioned as the three largest companies with the best reputation in Spain in 2024, according to the latest ‘Business Success’ report prepared by the consultancy Advice Strategic Consultants, reports Europa Press.
Inditex, for its part, has risen from sixth to fourth place in the business reputation ranking, while Telefónica remains in fifth position. Banco Santander, Mercadona, Cellnex Telecom, Meliá Hotels International and Iberdrola complete the ‘top 10’ of companies that have a good perception among the public.
The top Spanish companies with the highest reputation meet certain parameters above 90%, such as having business success, contributing to employment, advancing business digitalization or carrying out specific actions of social commitment and contribution to the Spanish economy.
“In 2024, the reputation of large companies is not a theoretical concept. It is as tangible as it can lead the general population to buy or not their products and services, to recommend them or not to third parties and other decisions that affect the bottom line of Spanish companies,” said Jorge Díaz Cardiel, managing partner of Advice Strategic Consultants.
In addition, trust has positioned itself as another relevant factor that interest groups take into account when granting corporate reputation to companies. For 87% of the general Spanish population of legal age, trust is a necessary requirement to buy products or services from that company, “be it energy, telecommunications, information technology, food, insurance, mortgages, cars or clothing,” according to the study.
The ranking of the ‘top 10’ Spanish companies with the best reputation in 2024 is made up of entities that influence both the general population, families, individuals, SMEs, self-employed workers, as well as affecting the business market and the public sector.
These are companies whose level of awareness exceeds 80% among people over 18 years of age in Spain. Some of them, such as Fundación ‘La Caixa’, El Corte Inglés, CaixaBank, Telefónica, Inditex, Mercadona and Banco Santander, reach the threshold of awareness of 90% among adults.
Fundación ‘La Caixa’ has led the reputation in Spain for at least a decade (2012-2024), according to the ‘Business Success’ study by Advice Strategic Consultants. The Catalan foundation encapsulates the three major dimensions of corporate reputation with the highest percentage (95%).
In the case of El Corte Inglés, by contrast, the most important factor is its reputation (91%), business success, with 40%, followed by trust (35%) and social commitment (15%).
