The 2024/25 La Liga season got underway on August 15, with Athletic Club sharing the spoils with Getafe in the opening match.

Real Madrid completed the double last season, winning the Spanish league and the UEFA Champions League and will be the team to beat once again. All eyes in that match will be on their new No 9, Kylian Mbappe, one of the most sought-after players of this generation.

Mbappe made the switch from Paris Saint-Germain over the summer transfer window, and is expected to further strengthen the squad as Madrid look to defend their league title.
