Grupo Frontera’s latest single “Ángel,” featuring Romeo Santos, has topped this week’s new music Latin poll.
In a poll published on Friday (July 26) — in support of the weekly New Music Latin roundup and playlist, curated by Billboard Latin and Billboard Español editors — music fans voted for the Texas-based group and Dominican artist’s first collaborative effort as their favorite music release of the week.
“Ángel” generated over 42% of the votes, beating out other new releases that dropped that week, including Omar Courtz and Anuel AA’s “Serio Con Ese Q” and Piso 21 and Ozuna’s “Fichaje del Año.”
Coming in second place as a fan favorite was Fuerza Regida’s new album, Pero No Te Enamores, which boasted more than 21% of the votes.
Co-produced by Santos, Edgar Barrera, and Casta, and penned by the three in addition to Keityn, the winning track is a sweet bachata that also incorporates Frontera’s signature norteño accordion for this innovative bachata-regional mashup. “No one like you/ You came to give me love/ Exactly what I deserved/ Someone like you/ Crazy like you /We have to ask God/ If he dropped an angel from above,” says the romantic chorus.
Last week, music fans voted for Lasso and Sofía Reyes catchy cumbia tune “Siempre Llegas Tarde,” bringing in more than 48% of the votes. See the final results of this week’s new music Latin poll and check out Frontera and Santos’ latest track below.
