Naas amateur Jamie Butler heads into the final round of the Toro Tour event at the Atalaya New Course just one shot off the lead after an impressive opening 36 holes.
Butler followed up an opening 67 with a sublime effort of 66 to climb to nine-under-par and into a share of third place. He trails French duo Hermes Ferchaud and Paul Margolis by the minimum.
Butler co-leads with Scottish golfer Cormac Sharpe in the amateur class.
Ronan Mullarney shares twelfth place on four-under-par after back-to-back rounds of 69 while Karl McCormack and Eoin Freeman are on one-under-par.
James Temple is a shot further back on level with Jamie Foley on +5.
