Atlético Madrid manager Diego Simeone spoke today ahead of his side’s trip to Seville to face Real Betis on Sunday at the Estadio Benito Villamarín.
Despite his side not being involved, the media in attendance quizzed the Argentine coach on Saturday night’s El Clásico between Real Madrid and Barcelona.
As per COPE, Simeone said that ‘We know that, whatever happens, they can’t both get the three points.’ jokingly being vague about his prediction ahead of the clash between the two sides.
It’s a diplomatic response ahead of the unpredictable tie, with the recent goalscoring exploits of the two sides making this a hard one to call, with a combined 29 goals scored in their last five matches.
On his own side’s tie against Real Betis, the coach said ‘Tomorrow we have a difficult, tough match, against a team that is playing better and better, that has been with the coach for many years, who knows them very well, who frees them up, who helps them play creative, attacking football.’
Atlético Madrid haven’t lost to Real Betis in the last 10 meetings between the two sides, having earned eight wins and two draws in that time, so Diego Simeone will be confident but also cautious.
