Bellingham contributed a brace to Real Madrid‘s win over Osasuna. The player spoke to Realmadrid TV to talk about the game: “The key was to score early and not concede. If we keep a clean sheet we can get a goal. Not conceding so early is a positive change and helps us to look for the win. Scoring early made the game easier for us.”
” It’s been a great start to my life here in Madrid. You have all helped me a lot, the club staff, my teammates and the fans. I’m very grateful. I’m not going to score in every game, but I have to try to maintain this level to try to win as much as possible.”
Goals “The first came from a brutal play by Modrić and Carvajal. I got into the box, picked up the ball, looked for a gap and hit it with my left foot. It was a good shot. In the second, I linked up well with Fede and beat the goalkeeper. Two good goals thanks to team play. I was there to put that last piece to the puzzle. It’s always nice to score and even more so when you win.”
Great start “I’m a confident guy, but I didn’t expect such a good start. I’m very happy. It’s only been ten games and we’ll have to maintain this level throughout the season.”
Ovation from the Bernabéu “I don’t know how to thank the fans. They’ve welcomed me into this family like one of their own. I hope they are enjoying my football. Their support and unity is fundamental to continue like this. It’s very important to be able to count on them.”
His pre-match ritual “I like to visualise the game. I see the pitch, the grass, my playing position… That way I feel calmer, I know where I’m going to be on the pitch. It’s something I’ve been doing throughout my career and thanks to that I go into matches without nerves and prepared for everything. I was taught this from a very young age and I still practice it.”
Ambition “At this stage of the season you can’t ask for more. At the moment we’re doing well. I’ve got my feet on the ground, but I’m still hungry for more.”
National team break “Now I have to play for England. I hope to get two wins and come back with the same rhythm and mentality to help my team win again.”
