Europe is filled with a variety of great theme parks, but Efteling in the Netherlands has been branded the best in Europe.

It attracts 5.4million visitors a year thanks to its thrilling rides and unique experiences on offer.

With six big rollercoasters, four water rides, and various play areas, there is plenty to enjoy.

Open 365 days a year, visitors at Efteling can enjoy the twin coaster experience on Max & Moritz.

Meanwhile, the 4D experience Fabula from Aardman Animations offers something different to those who aren’t so fond of the big rides.

Symbolica, opened in 2017, offers visitors a more sinister experience as one of the park’s popular dark rides.

Another exciting ride is Baron 1898 which takes its passengers on a 38-metre freefall at frightening speeds of 55 miles per hour. Meanwhile, the Python takes riders on a double loop and corkscrew.

Getting there from the UK isn’t too long either, taking a six-hour drive.

The park recently announced a new “royal gazebo” hotel that will be opened in 2025.

Head designer and manager of the Design & Experience department, Sander de Bruijn, said: “The impressive hotel forms a perfect backdrop for the gazebo, which is actually a royal annex of the Efteling Grand Hotel.

“With the same style elements and design, that connection is immediately made, and the link with overnight stays becomes extra applicable.”

Mums told The Sun that the park is the “best in Europe.”

One reviewer on Trip Advisor said of the park: ” Best European theme park! Highly recommend!”

Another said: “It was an amazing experience and so different to UK theme parks. It felt so much more friendly, welcoming and just a less frantic and more pleasant experience.

“The rides are better for younger children, but there are enough ‘big’ rides to keep the parents happy when you get a chance to dash off on your own to go on one. I would highly recommend a visit. It’s not cheap, but at the end of the trip I felt it was good value for the quality of the park and the whole experience.

“Oh, and the hotel was amazing and served some of the best food for the price I’ve ever had. Not “theme park” food! Nice little treat for the adults after a long day walking around the park.”
