The Spanish Women’s National football team achieved another milestone, adding to their impressive record, by becoming champions of the UEFA Women’s Nations League. This double triumph was sealed with a 2-0 victory in the final against France, following their semifinal win against the Netherlands, securing qualification for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. This marks the second major title for the national team after winning the 2023 World Cup, with Levante UD players Alba Redondo and María Méndez contributing to the success.
For Alba Redondo, this is her second title with Spain, following her World Cup victory in Australia and New Zealand. In the semifinal against the Netherlands, Alba Redondo played a significant role in the second half, contributing to the 3-0 goal scored by former Levante player Ona Batlle, securing a comfortable lead for Montse Tomé’s team.
After the match, Alba Redondo and María Méndez dedicated the victory to the victims of the tragic fire in the Campanar neighborhood of Valencia in a video recorded from the pitch.
