A BRITISH couple were seriously injured on Tuesday evening when they were mowed down by a drunk-driver outside their Mar Menor area hotel.
The husband, 50, and his wife, 48, were staying at the Costa Narejos Hotel in Los Narejos.
They were returning to their accommodation just after 11pm and were crossing the road when they were run over.

The driver fled the scene but the Los Alcazares Policia Local caught him and a breath test showed he was more than three-times over the alcohol limit.
He was also behind the wheel without a driving licence.
Paramedics treated and stabilised the condition of the British couple with the woman taken to the ICU of the Virgen de la Arrixaca Hospital in Murcia City.
Her partner was admitted to the Los Arcos del Mar Menor Hospital in San Javier.
No further details have been released about the British holidaymakers.
