Xisco Serra Loses His Life at 50 to Stomach Complication
Days before his passing, Xisco Serra showed no signs of slowing down, having shared an intense workout with his followers.
In 2016, Serra spoke about his skin cancer diagnosis, revealing some of the struggles he was forced to deal with.
“After several months of tests, operations and medication that leave me far from the appearance of a bodybuilder, this is the biggest of my battles to win against this disease and although there are hard moments when you think about throwing in the towel, you want to be strong to overcome all the bumps not only physical, but especially mental.
‘But as I always like to say, EVERYTHING in life happens for a reason: it was necessary that an illness arose that made me focus on life and my future from a different perspective and, despite my insistence, part of the machinery failed and I had to prioritise my recovery,” he shared in a online biography.
As a prolific coach to many in the bodybuilding community, fans were devastated by the news and shared their sadness on his Instagram page.
“A big star will shine in the sky every night and day, for what you have been as a human person!! RIP”
“We will miss you maestro, rest in peace phenomenon!”
“Always eternal.. thank you for everything. RIP ❤️❤️😢”
Unfortunately, the sport has seen a number of deaths shake the community as of late. Marco Cesar Aguiar Luis died at 46 years old though his cause of death has yet to be revealed. Additionally, fitness enthusiast Deepak Gupta, who consistently exercised for more than 10 years at the gym, suddenly fainted during a workout and never woke up.
We at Fitness Volt send our heartfelt condolences to the friends and family affected by the loss of Xisco Serra. His dedication to bodybuilding and helping others will be deeply missed by the fitness community.
