32 NGOs, trade unions, organisations, associations and platforms from Spain and autonomous regions sent a letter to the Spanish government in solidarity with the Kurdish people and in response to the urgent call of the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria.
Mentioning the invasion attacks of the so-called Syrian National Army (SNA) gangs, the appeal drew attention to the developments in Syria and especially in the region administered by the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria. The appeal stated that ISIS gangs were also included in the SNA groups and warned that “Not only the Autonomous Administration but also the whole of Europe and the world are at risk.”
The appeal called for urgent action by the Spanish government and the European Union and drew attention to the threats against hundreds of thousands of Kurds and other peoples displaced from the Til Rifat and Shehba regions and besieged in Aleppo.
Noting that women are also under threat, the appeal made the following demands:
“Provide urgent humanitarian assistance to the hundreds of thousands of displaced persons fleeing to areas under the control of the Autonomous Administration.
Take a resolute stand against Turkey. Apply maximum pressure to persuade Turkey to stop its attacks against the Autonomous Administration.
Politically recognise the Autonomous Administration’s identity and coexistence as an autonomous region of Syria.”
